Dear Pastor/Youth Leader/Parents,
We pray that this letter finds you and your families well. We wanted to let you know that you all have been in our prayers as we all go through these unprecedented times. We know that things have not been easy or normal in this time of schools, worship services, and life seemingly being put on hold. However, even if we can’t see it, we can always rest in the joy of knowing that God always works in these situations for His glory. And so, as we continue to journey through this, your Camp 678 Board asks that you join us in praying that we all will see the different ways that God is moving and working in this time.
With that being said, the other day the KCD NYI Camp 678 Board came together and after much prayer and consideration, we have made the decision to cancel Camp 678 this year. After receiving new stay-at-home orders that would not expire until a couple weeks before camp, we felt that it would be the best and most responsible decision to cancel this year. This decision has no impact on High School Camp as it is later in the summer. We wanted to let you know this as soon as possible because we understand that plans for summer are already starting to be made, and so that is why we ended up canceling sooner than expected.
The Camp Board is still working very hard and currently has started looking at the possibility of some type of alternative event to have in the fall, but we are still in the very early planning stages of this. If we are able to do something in the fall, we will let you know as soon as possible.
I do want to take a moment and thank David Goodwin, Jen Rosema, and Tom Craig. They have each sacrificed an enormous amount of time meeting and planning for middle school camp since last August, on top of all of their other responsibilities. It was a hard decision to cancel this year, but we are all looking forward to Camp 678 2021 and extremely excited to see how God will continue to work in each student’s life!
Your Camp 678 Board,
